Indy Pride Mission Statement

"Said Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to benefit the public, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify under Sections 501 (c) (3), or the corresponding section of any future tax code. In response to the prejudice and discrimination that members of the gay and lesbian community face, this Corporation was formed to provide educational and social programming for all persons residing in the State of Indiana in the hopes that said prejudice and discrimination will be eliminated." Amended Article 2 (Purpose) of the Articles of Incorporation of Indy Pride Inc. Nov. 4 1996.

Gay and Lesbian people have historically been subjected to prejudice, discrimination and misunderstanding. In response to these concerns and issues, Indy Pride, Inc. was formed. A prime objective of Indy Pride is to celebrate and educate others about the rich historical and cultural legacy of gay, bisexual and transgender peoples. In pursuing this objective, Indy Pride seeks to expand understanding of all minority communities Statement of Indy Pride Board April 28th 1997.

Indy Pride Inc. Mission. "Indy Pride Inc., through its purpose, fosters events that seek to educate, honor the history of the GLBT communities and celebrate the diversity of and create unity, in and between, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Straight communities."

"Toward this mission, Indy Pride Inc. sponsors the following events and benefits to fund these events:  Laugh OUT Loud,  Circle City IN PRide, Indy Pride Family Picnic, Hoosier 250 & Cookout w/ Silent Auction, Thanksgiving Evening, Educational and Vocational Scholarships, Workshops and Support Groups (confidential and public), also members of the board have and do currently donate their time as volunteers to the organization.
