Circle City IN Pride 2009 is Over!

What a week! From the Kick off with the Bag Ladies to the Tea Dance, Circle City IN Pride 2009 was our best attended festival EVER! We are still finalizing numbers, both attendance and financially, but until we can post that information, we want to thank everyone involved in making this event a success. Without the hard work of the volunteers and the support of our sponsors, we never could have gotten all of this done.

All of the information from this year's festival is still located in the various categories, but before you know it, we'll start updating this section for Circle City IN Pride 2010!

Thanks for the wonderful Pride event on Saturday. We had an absolute blast! On a more exciting note, we were able to raise $2,240 to provide HIV testing in rural areas of Indiana. Thanks so much for having us!

It was a wonderful day of pride yesterday at the Pride Parade and Festival. Peg and I had the chance to work the IUPUI booth and it was wonderful. Jayme thank you for organizing us. Also a big thank you to Alice, Cindy and Amber from Admissions for all of the materials and for caring about the GLBT community.

I had double the pride- as a lesbian the pride of our glbt community coming together. I also had pride in being a member of the IUPUI family. I lost track of the number of people who came by and were so please and enthused that IUPUI and IUB were at Pride.

Here's just one story- There were a group of about 5 folks - in their early twenties who drove up from Evansville- it was their first Pride festival and they just could not believe that a university would be at pride and would want them as students- one woman said - "I gotta go to IUPUI".

So, yesterday was a great Pride day!
